Privacy Policy

Last updated: Sept 7, 2026

Who We Are

Our website address is: https://securityinfonet.com.

This policy explains what information we collect when you visit, how we use it, and what choices you have.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have an account there. The Gravatar service’s privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public alongside your comment.

Comments are stored indefinitely so we can recognize returning commenters and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding every comment for manual review. You can request that a comment be removed at any time using the contact details below.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site, including which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and general location and device information. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this data. This information is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. For more on how Google handles this data, see Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Affiliate Links and Advertising

This site participates in affiliate marketing programs, including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and affiliate programs offered by other retailers and brands referenced in our content. This means we may earn a commission when you click a link on this site and make a qualifying purchase, at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate links do not give us access to your personal or payment information. That information is handled directly by the retailer or platform you purchase from, subject to their own privacy policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit through a link on this page.

Our editorial content and product opinions are our own. Affiliate relationships do not determine what we choose to write about or recommend.

Media

If you upload images to this site, please avoid uploading images that include embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from any image posted here.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. This is for your convenience, so you don’t have to re-enter your details when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we also set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, and screen option cookies last a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes your login cookies.

If you edit or publish a post, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply stores the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

As noted above, we also use cookies through Google Analytics and through affiliate tracking links to measure site performance and referral activity.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content, such as videos, images, or articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited that website directly.

These third-party sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, including tracking your activity if you have an account and are logged in to that site.

Email List

We do not currently operate an email newsletter or mailing list. If we introduce one in the future, this policy will be updated to explain what information is collected, how it’s used, and how you can unsubscribe at any time. Signup will always require your explicit opt-in.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with service providers who help operate the site, such as our hosting provider, Google Analytics, and the Gravatar service described above, solely to provide those services.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely, so we can recognize and automatically approve follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If this site adds user registration in the future, registered users’ profile information will be stored until the user deletes it or requests removal. All users would be able to see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except their username. Site administrators would also be able to see and edit that information.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have left a comment on this site, you can request an exported copy of the personal data we hold about you, and you can request that we erase it. This does not apply to data we’re required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Analytics data is processed by Google as described above. Any purchase made through an affiliate link is processed entirely by the retailer, not by this site.

Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
